Great Expectations Students Attend Inauguration Festivities

Three JSRCC students inward the college’s Great Expectations plan were with a grouping of xxx students in addition to coaches who attended President Barack Obama’s Inauguration on Monday, Jan 21st.  The tickets were given to the Virginia Community College System who inward plough shared them with students inward the Great Expectations plan from some the state.  Dedra E. Hampton, Great Expectations Coordinator/Coach for JSRCC, selected the 3 JSR students based on their academic achievement. 


The Great Expectations plan helps immature adults who are or were lately affiliated with the Virginia Foster Care System transition to college.  The plan helps Virginia’s foster youth arrive at access to a community college didactics in addition to transition successfully from the foster tending scheme to living independently. There are currently 62 students at J. Sarge enrolled inward the Great Expectations program, the largest Great Expectations plan inward the state.  Since 2008 when the plan was created at JSR, to a greater extent than than 400 students accept participated inward the plan at the College.
